IPLING
MAILBASE

Through the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the north of England, a Kipling discussion forum has been set up, using the well established academic 'mailbase' system, for members of the Society and academic specialists on RK. Any member of the 'rudyard-kipling' mailbase can exchange messages by email with everyone else on the list. It is a simple informal system for corresponding with other Kipling enthusiasts anywhere in the world.

More and more people have joined the mailbase over the past few months.

Issues raised over the past few weeks have ranged widely, including how to find particular rare editions, on-line sources of Kipling poems, work being done on a new bibliography, where a particular quote came from, how RK picked up his knowledge of tiger shooting, RK and the Victoria Cross, ideas for a new conference, and RK's Lanchester motor cars.

There have recently been lively discussions on Kipling's City of Dreadful Night, and about the echoes of spiritualism in They , his most celebrated ghost story.

Once you become a member of the Society, there is a simple procedure for joining, and you will automatically receive any messages to the mailbase in your inbox.
